WELCOME TO THE HEART HEALTH PROGRAM

The Heart Health Program is designed to improve patients’ cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN A CURE!

The Heart Health Program is OHIP covered and provides an integrated, multidisciplinary approach consisting of Cardiologists / Internists / Dieticians and Kinesiology to assist in screening patients and appropriately intervening with supervised lifestyle modification.

ENROLLMENT QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • 2 or more modifiable risk factors and/or Framingham risk score > 10% (assessed by Physician)
  • Referral requisitions to the program are completed by the Family Physician. Requisitions can be found HERE or can be made available in Family Physicians’ offices, by request.
  • All test results and program communications are sent exclusively to the Family Physician.
  • The program consists of 4 visits, which are scheduled over the course of three months.

Dr. Arvi Grover
Cardiologist

Dr. Grover is Director of the Heart Health Program at KMH.  With 25-years experience in Cardiology, Dr. Grover is a strong advocate of lifestyle modification for disease prevention.  He is an active leader is his field and provides 40-50 lectures per year to medical students, physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, as well as the general public.  Previous positions include Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at Dynacare, Director of Cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Canada, and Director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation at Credit Valley Hospital.
